WHAT IS THE TREATMENT

PROCEDURE LIKE?

First, your medical provider will apply numbing cream in the area to be treated. Then, about 13 to 52 cc of blood is drawn from your arm, and the blood is centrifuged so as to separate the platelet-rich plasma. This platelet-rich plasma, also often referred to as “golden liquid” is transferred into a syringe and injected into the area using a tiny needle.

A collection of autologous PRP using a small amount of your own blood is followed by an infusion of PRP into the skin by the microneedling device.

PRP works because the plasma and platelets are the components of blood that are full of growth factors, nutrients, and proteins. Platelet-Rich Plasma, the liquid that contains platelets is yellowish and it is separated by centrifuging the whole blood until it separates out from the rest of the blood components such as red blood cells.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

As a standalone therapy, it is usually recommended to have a series of 3 treatment sessions performed from 4 to 5 weeks apart for best results. For deeper wrinkles or other age signs, 6 to 8 treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results.

WHAT TO EXPECT POST-PROCEDURE?

Right after your microneedling with PRP/PRF procedure, you will find that your skin appears slightly pink or red. This is completely natural and should not be a cause for alarm. The reaction to the treatment differs from each individual patient. Some have reported experiencing dryness, itching, tenderness, and a mild burning sensation. However, these conditions will go away on their own in about a day or two without further complications.
